What is Lambada and why not give it a try?
Lambada is a popular dance style that originated in Brazil in the 1980s, and has recently once again become very popular with Brazilian Zouk dancers around the world. It combines elements of various dance styles, such as forró, carimbó, salsa, merengue, samba, mexixe, creating a unique and vibrant dance experience. The dance is very energetic (like salsa) with flowing movements and close partner connection (like Brazilian Zouk). Lambada is a dynamic and expressive dance style that allows for lots of personal interpretation and creativity, but you first must master the rules of the dance!
What you will learn in this course:
  • Basic Steps and turn patterns that will allow you to dance Lambada at parties.
  • Rhythm and Timing: Lambada is a rhythmical dance, so it’s crucial to develop a sense of timing and sync your movements with the music.
  • Hip Movements: Lambada is known for its sensual hip movements.
  • Embrace Connection
  • Wi-Fi games and connection, this will definitely improve your spatial awareness, it is super fun, especially since you can dance and play with more than just one partner, making this a very social dance.
  • Learn how Brazilian Zouk dancers are using elements and movements to enrich their dance experience and go back to the roots of Brazilian Zouk.

OTHER CLASSES

Lady Style

LADY STYLING (BACHATA)

Lady Style showcases smooth, fluid movements, intricate footwork, and sensual hip motions, allowing dancers to express their femininity and grace on the dance floor. You don’t need to have a male partner to join the class.

SALSA

Salsa is more than music. A movement born abroad and nurtured by immigrant communities in the heart of New York City, the uptempo, percussive and horn-driven music combined Latin and Afro-Caribbean rhythms to create the first pan-Latin musical genre that reflected the people who performed, enjoyed and danced to its beats.

STYLING (LEADERS AND FOLLOWERS)

This class is for salsa dancers who would like to look better and move with better mechanics. Styling is not just about the arms, but about learning effective movement patterns, expressing your personality and adding spice to your dance. The class will include body movement and isolation exercises.

SPINNING TECHNIQUE (OPEN LEVEL)

In partner dance, one of the toughest skill is to learn how to spin — however, once you master it, your level will improve dramatically and so will the amount of fun that you will have on the dance floor.

We encourage both ladies and gentlemen to join us for a fun, challenging class. We work on balance, body awareness and core strenght.

BACHATA SENSUAL

Bachata Sensual was made popular in Spain. Bachata Sensual is a mix between dance and theatre with strict follow and lead principles. The dance is an interpretation of the music with mostly circular movements and body waves, except when the music has stronger beats, when the dance uses isolations and dips.

YOGA (OPEN LEVEL)

Our Yoga lesson is fit for those who have already taken Yoga classes before or are comfortable with different postures.

A Slow Flow class taught by Lien, it’s perfect for those trying to achieve balance, strength, and stability through the practice of Yoga.
